Enjoying the Present Moment

November 3, 2010

By Sister Carolyn B.

What can we learn from the changing leaves? Last week the New Membership Team from the South Central Community gathered in Belmont, North Carolina to set our goals for the coming year.  At a prayer session at the beginning of the day one of the sisters invited us each to gaze on a colorful fallen leaf.  The one that I chose was a brilliant red and gold.  I reflected on how precious this moment was for the leaf and for me because the colors would soon fade.  This fall has been very beautiful for me as I have been able to take some time for walks in the woods in our area.  I am grateful for this time to savor this season and rejoice in the present moment.  What are you grateful for at this time of year?
