Haiti and Me

February 4, 2010

By Sister Carren

Have you been able to get your mind around the absolute devastation in Haiti and the thousands of people left with less than nothing? What are you doing with your limited means in the face of unlimited needs? It’s tempting to say, “I can’t do anything; it’s too overwhelming,” and hope the desperate needs fade from your awareness. There is another way: You can be part of a powerful circle of Mercy.

In addition to sending money, the Mercy community has sent a Sister who is a physician to help with life and death daily needs. Mercy prayer from every part of the world is enfolding the Haitians in their struggle to survive and not lose hope. Life has changed forever for people in this unbelievably poor country. God will lead you in a meaningful response if you listen with a generous heart. God will not turn a deaf ear to the cries of the suffering Haitians. In the midst of all the chaos, transforming love will break through.
