New Year, New Day

December 9, 2009

If at first you don’t succeed, try – try again. That’s how the saying goes – keep on keeping on. Some people look at New Year’s resolutions that way. Last year I fizzled out, but this year will be different…

I look at New Year’s resolutions differently. Instead of repeating and trying harder, I see each New Year as a spiral, a progression inward toward my center. My desire to be more healthy, more patient, more accepting, closer to God and centered is a process, and it takes a lifetime. New Years is an opportunity to recommit myself to my journey and reflect onmy progress over the past year without judging myself harshly.
