God’s Spirit: A Prayer
May 9, 2012
By Sister Chris Koellhoffer, IHM
In this time of pain and promise,we call on God’s Spirit to blessthe leadership of LCWR, of ourCongregation, and all women religious who strive to live thegospel in these uncertain times. We call on the Spirit of God to reveal the way forwardthat is faithful to God’s dream for us and our lives together.May all who are called to engagein prayer and conversation come tothe table with hearts that are open, transparent, and faith-filled. May theirreflection be marked by a deep listeningto the voice of the Spirit at work in
our world.May the holy ones who have gonebefore us inspire us by their courageand wisdom and affirm that we are
not alone.May we continue to faithfully live thequestions of our time and witness tothe people of God that we are womenat home with mystery and filled withfierce hope for our shared future.Amen.
Editor’s Note: This prayer was originally shared with the National Communicators Network for Women Religious and is not an official prayer for the Leadership Council for Women Religious. Sister Chris wrote it for her congregation the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and was kind enough to share it with us. We invite you to share it as we join together with other members of LCWR during these challenging times.

As a Catholic woman I am sadden by this and will pray for all involved and hope that Christlike wisdom will prevail.
Sisters, keep a voice. The world longs to hear the voice of feminine wisdom; its is dying without it.
Thank you for your kind words, Mary.
Thank you for sharing.
